Day # Freedom -Both Summer and American Freedom!

Hard at work!

Summer! Today we celebrated the first day of summer school break by participating in a bit of American Freedom!

I had read yesterday about the governor’s orders to once again extend the “safer-at-home” order and this time it’s “until rescinded”. It grieves me greatly to see governors that are abusing their powers against the people. Its supposed to be about government by the people and for the people, but lately there certainly seems to be less and less of that type of approach! As a state, we very much complied with the first request of the governor way back in March. We stayed home. We stopped visiting with people. We only did the very essentials, and we worked to protect the vulnerable. However, here we are TEN (10) weeks later, and the only thing that has changed is that we have lost more and more freedoms! At first, masks were not mandated. Apparently, COVID-19 heard that Mainers weren’t wearing masks, so that was instituted for the second day at home extension. (Insert sarcasm here) At first, we needed to “flatten the curve”. Mainers did that so well that the curve was not only flattened it was sat upon! The most people that have people hospitalized at one time in our state for COVID-19 has been 60! 60 people out of a state with 1.3 million people spread across over 35,000 square miles. We are the least densely populated state east of the Mississippi. Explain to me again how this is not about power?!

Okay, back from rabbit trail number one! After taking trash to the dump and doing our Saturday chores, I called Roger. Roger had to work today, but he was totally on board with me taking the kids to the Freedom Rally. I explained to our children that protesting in America is perfectly legal and acceptable. What has happened in Minneapolis is NOT a protest! That is a group of riotous thugs who now seem to care more about their own agenda that the memory of George Floyd! At what point in time is it acceptable and appropriate to DESTROY someone else’s property? We make our kids pay for the stuff that they break if they destroy something that does not belong to them! You do not get to be angry and then take out your anger on someone else’s property! I think that police officer should definitely be charged for murder! He took someone else’s life! I also wonder why people were filming this whole incident instead of trying to help the man? We are trying to raise our children to not only desire to be Godly, but also to be good citizens! We do not stand by when another person is being hurt- that is wrong!

Back from rabbit trail number two (I feel like I’m writing one of those recipe blogs where the reader is like, “where on earth is the stinking recipe?”). Anyways, Roger and I decided that we should take our children to the rally, or rather I would take them. I helped the kids write out signs for the protest, and Chandler and Garett wrote on the van. Garett first tried a dry erase marker. He told me that he had written “honk for freedom”. I went out so see, and I asked, “where did you write it?” It was not even visible! Another plan was needed. Chandler came up with these markers that he had used for some type of project. They are like paint markers...and I guess we will be seeing how long they last on the van! “Honk for Freedom” is now visible though! We finished up our signs, prayed for God to give us direction, and we headed out. Chandler, Wyatt and Garett all expressed that they were a little bit nervous. If I was totally honest, so was I! But I feel like this was an important moment for our children. America seems to be on the brink of socialism. I do not want to go down without fighting against that. I want our children to see a mom who is/was patriotic and willing to do hard things to try to stand against wrongs. We must teach our children to be patriotic and what that means! I believe that previous generations failed the next generation back in the 1960s and 70s. Good Christians were at home raising their families and doing good things, but it kinda seems that it was a time where what was happening in the political world was ignored. Prayer was removed from the schools, and then abortion was legalized...where were the Christians?! Maybe I’m off my rocker, but it seems that Christians got involved in their own little bubble and forgot about the world at large or about raising another generation to be patriotic and to be involved in politics. It seems that now there is a surge going back towards Christians getting involved in politics...hopefully, it’s not too late!

Ha! By now you’re wondering ...did they go to the rally?! YES! We went to the rally in Augusta today. We participated in the drive-thru protest first and there was a lot of horns honking, people waving flags, and many signs! After we did that a few times, I decided to let the kids get out of the car. Originally I had not planned on that but there was plenty of space for social distancing. I’m not worried about social distancing, but our governor has mandated that if you can’t be six feet away, you must wear a mask. I’m not a fan of those. However, there was plenty of space for social distancing. I got to see first hand how some pictures are very, very deceiving that are posted by the media! The majority of people were spread out all along the sidewalks. I took the kids over to where I needed to sign the petition, but we stayed on the outskirts as it was hot! I would’ve enjoyed listening to some of the speakers, but it was way too hot for the kids to stand in the sun listening to someone speak about something over their head! We did have several people thank the kids for coming to the rally, and telling them how important they are to America. That was encouraging for our children to hear and for me also! We did not stay real long, but it was a great experience for our kids. There were several hundred people there, and everyone was polite, friendly, and respectful. It was exactly what I would want our children to see at a protest! The boys all said that they were glad that they got to go  the protest. Emma wanted to know why no one was handing out snacks! A dear friend had offered to keep the kids while I went to the rally, but I’m glad I took them with me. Emma would probably not want to go again, but I think the boys would definitely willingly participate again.

I think that there are A LOT of Americans that are hesitant to get involved in this whole COVID-19 debacle. Listen...we did the right thing right away back in March! We did exactly what was asked. However, now we are seeing more and more freedoms infringed upon! The time to be vigilant, diligent and involved is right now! Write letters to the Department of Justice, your governor, state representatives, etc. Support those that seem to be the right candidates for the next elections! Love people! Pray! You may think I’m crazy or that I’ve gone off the deep end! Maybe I have...but I want our kids to see a mama that loves Jesus, loves people, loves America, and is willing to stand up for ALL of those!

Rabbit Trails over! You made it! :)

Highlights and Lowlights!

Another year done!

Love these staff ladies (yes, I know the mask is not being worn correctly!

Fun Memories!

Frog egg academic report

These teacher gifts were not amazing this year, I’ll be honest. But the kids wrote a note to their teachers,  and I’m thankful for each of their teachers!

Whew! And just like that another school year is wrapped up! I’ll be honest- I do not want to repeat another year quite like the end of this one. We survived it. The teachers did an amazing job with working at teaching our children remotely, but remote learning would not be my first choice! We finished up all the remaining academic fair projects this morning. Nothing like the last minute, right?! We are thankful for all the effort on behalf of our children, the work of their teachers, and the grace of God that sustained us through the year. We are blessed!

Today we wrapped up the school year with one last packet drop-off. The parents and students showed their love and support to the school by making posters, writing on vehicles and honking of horns. It was very special and sweet. My only bit of sadness was that Roger was working so our kids were unable to participate in this momentous occasion. I have to be at school early on these days of packet pick up/drop off, so I leave the kids at home by themselves for a bit. It works out fine (generally) but I was a bit sad that they missed today. Life is not fair sometimes!

My heart is saddened today by many events that are happening across our nation and in our own state. First of all there is the whole incident happening in Minneapolis. How sad that racism is such a problem in our land that a black man would be murdered! We live in a fallen and sinful world, and this murder was wrong in every aspect. Next would be the riots, vandalism and looting that have happened in the wake of the murder of George Floyd. So many people’s businesses have now been destroyed in the name of justice. That is not justice- that is another example of sinful mankind justifying another wrong action! God created each person, and He chose their skin color. How horrible to treat another person wrongly because of their skin color!

Secondly, my heart is deeply mourning the actions of our own governor here in the state of Maine. She again extended the safer-at-home order for Mainers. I am convinced that there is an overreach of governmental power, and that she has is not acting on behalf of the interest of the state of Maine. Today we had another decline in active cases (in spite of tripling the testing last week!) and still the safer-at-home order is extended “Until rescinded”. Read more Here. So  we have almost 40,000 people that live in our county. Out of those nearly 40,000 people, 20 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19. As of today there are 2 active cases in our county! That’s great news! The governor’s news-  Unbelievable! And the CDC and WHO can’t agree on whether or not to wear a mask anyways, but our governor has decided to mandate that all people must wear a mask inside of businesses! There is a freedom rally at our capital tomorrow at noon. I am hoping to attend the rally, but with Roger working tomorrow that might be more challenging.  So, what’s the right course of action? I do not have a medical reason to not wear a mask...I just get hot and sweaty when I do, and I feel like my blood pressure is rising. Yet, the governor is requiring everyone to wear a mask. And the Scriptures tell us to give unto Caesar that which is his...and to try to live peaceably with all men...so what’s the right course of action for a mama who wants be a patriot, and to fight for the rights of the people of Maine? This is not a rhetorical question? I’d certainly welcome some input here! Yes, I plan to vote and promote those that I believe would uphold the Constitution and protect our state. I’ve written letters, voiced my opinion, and prayed a lot! Does anyone have any other suggestions?

I”m thankful that God is still faithful. I am discouraged. I am wondering if America will ever escape out from under this power struggle that seems to be oppressive. I am concerned about the election in November. I pray often for my husband’s job and other small businesses to be able to survive this season. And I trust my Heavenly Father. And sometimes, I wonder at His master plan, but He already holds tomorrow. He is already there.

My prayer tonight is for wisdom. I want to be a good example to my children, Christians, and my community.

Day# In Pictures

Wanted to watch this history in the making yesterday, but the mission was scrubbed due to weather

It’s almost over! Moving on to first grade soon!

Last google meet for these boys was yesterday!

Finally! Spent some time together today. We stood in a few lines, laughed and talked a lot, and enjoyed each other’s company! It was a fun afternoon!

7:30am recording pre-school lessons! We are thankful to be wrapping up the year! It was a blessing to serve our families.

These truths are still true today! Take hope...Rest in Jesus!

I’ve included just a few pictures from the last two days! The weather has been warm here in Maine, and we’ve been enjoying all the outside time we can get! We will be done with the school year tomorrow! Praise the Lord! I have a lot on my mind these days, but sometimes I just need some time to process many thoughts. God is good. I am thankful for His faithfulness to all generations.

Day# Worm Farms and More!

Another day here in mid-coast Maine! We rejoiced in sunshine and warm temperatures, and spent much of the day working on school work, yard work, and house work!

Chandler enjoys fishing a lot. The other boys do also, but Chandler is the one who is currently growing a worm farm. What’s a worm farm? Well, it’s when you use an old sandbox and fill it with dirt and small worms. Then you attend to it as you would a farm! The worms are watered, fed leftover food scraps and then the worms grow. Chandler has been diligent about taking care of the worms, and the worms are growing (much to my surprise!).

Travis is recovering nicely from his incident with the golf club yesterday. He still has some swelling, but he is healing quite nicely. I don’t think he is too eager to get back to golfing!

Garett did his academic fair project with his class in the online meeting this morning. He was so nervous. He had written down some notes, and he read his notes. He did just that- read the notes...no expression or voice inflections, but he did the job. It’s hard to do those types of things in online meetings, and I know that he was glad to have that behind him. One more school project done!

It was a rather quite day around here after all the excitement of yesterday. We were playing on having some friends over to play, but that did not work out. We rescheduled for another day, and our children will look forward to that.

The more I read and try to understand what is happening in our nation and to the American people, the more I realize that there is a real and deep need for people to understand the Constitution. Our founding Fathers did not right the Constitution because they could not find anything else to do with their time! They wrote it out meticulously and with great wisdom because they knew that they were setting a foundation for a new country. We have much to be thankful for as their foresight has served the American people for over 200 years. Now, however, we are in danger of losing some of the rights that are given to the American people in our Constitution. Instead of a nation together, we are a nation divided. Instead of facts being reported, and allowing the people to use common sense and form their own opinions, we are blasted with biased media reports, Governors that are overreaching on their powers, and a whole wacko load of “if you aren’t fearful, then you just don’t care about people!” Let me assure you that I can totally care about you, and your opinion and I can even respect you on that...but I do not need to be bullied or made to feel inferior because my opinion differs from yours! We are truly in a time where we need to “redeem the time”. I want my children to be able to grow up in an America that has a Patriotic spirit;  they are free to worship as they choose; they can make their own choices on vaccines and doctors; they have the right to bear arms and much more! I see an America that is in dire danger of losing all those things! I cannot sit by and quietly allow the future of our children to disappear while I just complain about how things are going. I will write letters to those in authority. I will educate myself on all kinds of sources of information. I will be passionate and kind as I endeavor to be an example of Christ-likeness. I will do my part to be an American and a Christian. Stand firm! Love Jesus!

Day # Memorial Day and Golf Accidents!

This is a bike birm...from what the boys have told me!

Emma found the dollar today! Quite by accident, but she found it!
This is my next social experiment...how long will the toilet paper rolls sit on the counter? There is $1.00 under one of them. :)

Golf club accidents

Happy Memorial Day! It was an unusual Memorial Day in that we did not have a barbecue with friends or go anywhere to meet up with friends. However, it was a day in which we enjoyed listening to Patriotic Music and discussing what Memorial Day is really about. It is our duty as American parents to teach our children about our heritage. Freedom is not free! There are men and women who have sacrificed their very lives for the American Freedoms that you enjoy today. Freedom of speech, freedom of religion, the right to bear arms- please do not take those freedoms lightly!

Something to think about!

Today’s weather was a bit overcast, but it did not rain. The boys spent most of the day outside building some type of bike project. I did go check on what they were doing once Chandler hauled out the power tools and the extension cord! They are building a bike birm...do you know what that even is!? I did not know what it was, but apparently it’s some type of ramp that you can put in the around a corner in the trail so that you do not have to slow down to turn. Oh, wow! That sounds really unsafe, but according to the boys, it’s very safe! Uh huh! Put on the bike helmets, boys!

Travis and Emma had some excitement today also. Travis was giving Emma some golfing lessons out in the front yard. He can be very sweet to her, and they were out there having a grand time. I was working on cutting up some watermelon in the kitchen, when all of the sudden I hear screaming! Now if you’re a mom, you recognize different types of screaming, and this was one that told me that something was not right. I started towards the front door, just as Travis reached the porch steps. I could see blood falling from his face. He was yelling that “My eye is gone! My eye is gone!” Emma is right on his heels wailing about how she’s so sorry and it was an accident! (Over and over again!) I direct Travis to the kitchen to check on the blood flowing down his cheek, but I knew his eye was not “gone”. Emma had swung the golf club and Travis had not backed up far enough to avoid the swing! I managed to get a cold towel on his face to try to clear up the blood while four other faces looked on anxiously. Emma was still crying; Chandler was helping himself to the watermelon that was on the counter; Wyatt and Garett were right in our space trying to be helpful. There were a few moments of mad, chaotic confusion, but we survived it! Travis will have a nice black eye for a few days, but his eye is fine. The golf club actually caught him a bit more on his cheek than on his eye. I am thankful that it was Emma that was swinging the club, and not one of the older boys. It was a good reminder to all the kids on the importance of looking out for each other. I am thankful for the Lord’s continued protection on our children. Travis is back to himself this afternoon...riding bikes, blazing trails, and eating just fine! Travis also told Emma that he was done teaching her golf. “She’s a terrible golfer, mom!” Okay, I guess Emma and Travis will not be playing golf together for a while!

In Maine we have 706 active cases of Coronavirus, with 59 hospitalizations.

This is the part that is my opinion. You may keep reading or perhaps stopping here would be best.

The economy is basically tanked in our state which is a direct result of our governor’s orders. Do I think Covid-19 is real? Absolutely! Do I think we should ruin the tourism industry/small businesses/ etc.  for the foreseeable future? No! I probably have a stronger opinion than many since my husband works for a small business. I think that Americans need to start researching facts and information for themselves. There are two sides to every story, and the longer that this pandemic stretches on, the more I think that the American people need to read, research and develop their own thinking. It’s amazing what potential is in our brain when we develop and use our own cognitive reasoning skills!  Freedom of speech is covered in our First Amendment. Doesn’t anyone else think it strange that most of mainstream media does not cover the President’s briefing every day? Or the fact that what he says is taken out of context and used against him? I’m not saying that our President has always made the right choices or said the right thing, but he is still the President of the United States of America! Whether you agree with his decisions or not, I surely hope that you pray for him every day. Would you want that job!? You might not think the way I think or agree with me, and that is totally fine. However, it is time to wake up Americans! We are losing our freedoms and liberties right and left in the name of “safety”! Do you really want to sacrifice so much? I do not! I would rather have my liberties and freedoms than the “safety” that is offered from an untested vaccine, massive restrictions, and the crippling of Americans dreams and livelihoods!  At some point in time, we need to protect those that are vulnerable, and the healthy and strong people need to get back to work.

Regardless of all of the above paragraph, we can still be friends! I want to be your friend, and we can agree to disagree. The Bible tells us to “as much as liveth in you, live peaceably with all men”. So yes, my desire is to have peace with those around me. That does not mean that I do not have an opinion or should never express it. I do know that God loves you and He loves me. He created both of us, and we are both uniquely different. Tonight I rest in the faithfulness of our good, good Heavenly Father!

Day # Worship and Wonderings

Drive in Concert- this was before the parking lot was full. It was a beautiful day for a outdoor concert!

Thankful!

Sunday! What a blessing it was to enjoy a “drive-in” worship concert this afternoon in our church parking lot. I can say that I’ve never done anything like that before in my life, but it was a special and joyous occasion.

Roger, Garett and Chandler went out to Matinicus Island early this morning as Roger had a job to do out there this morning. Chandler brought his bike along, and he was happy to bike! I had two disappointed younger boys when they woke up this morning, so they are anxiously awaiting their turn to do something special with dad.

We went to the drive-in service at church this morning, and while we have so appreciated the opportunity to hear God’s Word over the radio and to yell at our friends in the vehicle next to us, we miss being in the church building to worship together. Lord willing, next Sunday, we will be able to worship together in our church building. Oh, what a day that will be! I simply cannot grasp the fact that churches have so many “guidelines” in our state. Attending church is definitely one thing that is totally OPTIONAL to attend (look at how many people do not go when things are going well!),so why all the requirements for churches? If people don’t feel safe, stay home! No one is making anyone attend church services, so recommendations such as “no singing”, “plexiglass barriers”, “Face coverings”, etc. all seem excessive for a bunch of people that are coming together because they would like to do so.

This morning, while out on my walk, I was talking to my good friend, Jenna. We had a conversation about why Christians are being so silent in this battle online. The opposite side is certainly not hesitant to constantly and often repeat their propaganda, but why are Christians not speaking out often and freely for the rights that we’ve been given? The truth of the matter is that we can no longer be silent! Articles, posts, and podcasts are going missing due to “misinformation” or rather information that disagrees with the other side. I have no desire to get into a debate with people, because truthfully I’m not very good at expressing myself like that. Every.single.time I got into an argument with my older sister growing up, I always lost! I’m not good at expressing my thoughts or getting those thoughts to come out fluidly in a conversation. But, I cannot sit by idly and watch our freedoms being stripped away. The war is on to eradicate our freedoms in the name of “safety” or to erase information in the name of “misinformation” when in fact the information is accurate and correct but it represents a different side. The Bible warns us to not be easily deceived! We are to “redeem the time” to be aware that the “devil walks about as a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour”. I don’t know what the future holds as that is a timetable that belongs to the Lord, but I do know that we celebrate Memorial Day to honor those who died for our FREEDOMS not to “keep us safe”! Americans- I appeal to you to protect the rights and freedoms that our Armed Forces have fought to preserve. Christians and Americans- I appeal to you to take a stand against evil and darkness. We are children of the LIGHT. We must walk in that LIGHT!

This afternoon, we had an enjoyable time at the drive-in worship concert. In honor of Memorial Day, the American Flag was presented. The Hyssongs sang “God bless the USA” by Lee Greenwood. I very much love that song, and it was one that the junior high students were working on for the Patriotic Program. I know it’ll come as a surprise to you-but I cried. It was very moving, and I so desire that our children will be able to grow up in America that is the land of the free because of the brave!

It was a full day with church services this morning, and a concert this afternoon. The church parking lot was full for the concert, and it was totally weird how that instead of clapping after the songs, the horns on the cars would toot! My kids loved that part. These drive-in services are hard on children, as being cooped up in a vehicle with their siblings is probably not their idea of a good time. Yet, the children really seemed to enjoy the music, and it was exciting for us to see all those people attend. What a witness to our community as the event happened right in front of the church building in the parking lot! God is working-even through these unusual times! Be not discouraged -take heart and rest in His Word.

See that tiny piece of paper? There is a dollar under it. I’m waiting to see how long that piece of paper sits on the floor in the hallway before someone picks it up to move it.

Lake Days and Sweet Memories!

Garett was using the leaf blower to keep the black flies away!

Swimming with Ice cubes

Very, Very thankful for these sweet ladies!

Another beautiful day here in Maine! Oh, we had plenty of work inside that we could’ve done, but instead we took trash to the dump, and then we ran away to the lake for the day.

Roger was working today. So after Garett and I took the trash to the dump, we gathered up lunch food, fishing poles, and headed to the lake. Roger’s boss and his wife have a cabin on a lake, and we headed there for a bit today. (You probably are wondering when do I actually work...rest assured, I’m fairly confident that I work plenty!)  The kids and I worked outside at the lake property moving leaves, picking up brush, and just general yard clean up. The black flies were atrocious, but we did manage to get some work done. Emma and Travis both decided to go swimming, but it was a short swim. Emma was in the lake with blue lips, and she told me that it felt like she was swimming with ice cubes! I bet...exactly why I was not going swimming! Somehow, Emma ended up with just slippers at the lake today. She packed a whole back pack full of treasures, but she only had slippers. Her brothers showed no mercy in asking her how on earth did she manage to do that?! Oh well. We survived with the slippers. The slippers are dirty and need to be washed, but it’s all okay. I was reminded back to the times when we had the four boys in four years and the times that one child would only have on socks or one child had on shoes...that didn’t match. Somehow ending up with slippers was not the end of the world!

It was a great day to enjoy hotdogs, fresh fruit, and visits on the screened in porch away from the black flies! I am thankful that we have friends that allow us to come and spend time with them. Sometimes the days can seem pretty monotonous for our children, and I am very thankful that they have each other. At times the squabbling and arguing can be a bit much, but the flip side is that you can just go find a different sibling to play with around here! We are blessed to have bikes, miscellaneous golf equipment, lots of wood and nails, and plenty of space. For our children, this home at the end of a dirt road represents a haven to them. Travis told me the other day that he was very thankful for our house and that home is normal. I took a second to process what he was saying, and I realized that for him, it’s been important that home is “normal”. Mom still cooks food and lots of it, laundry still happens, Dad goes to work, and their “freedoms” at home have not changed. Roger and I try to be very careful about how much and which information we give to our children. They are not old enough to to bear that responsibility and it’s not theirs to bear. Now we do give our children some information (obviously) and they have been diligent to pray, but they don’t need to know all the details of how crazy the world has become lately. Maybe it’s not the right approach, or it’s not what you would do, but thats okay! That is the beautiful thing about having opinions-we can both have them.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve done a lot (A LOT) of praying in the last ten weeks. I’ve learned that I can be impatient about God’s timing. I’ve learned (again) that I don’t always like hard things. I’ve been reminded that it’s my favorite thing when people agree with me. I’ve learned that God’s peace  truly is a wonderful gift, and it’s mine for the asking. I’ve learned that people who are manipulated by fear do some odd and wildly crazy things. I’ve been reminded again of how wonderfully patient and kind my husband is at rescuing me from feeling like I’m going crazy. I’ve treasured so many great memories with our children, and I hope that they will remember bike rides, beach walks, and long talks as highlights of this time at home. I have a lot more that I have learned or re-learned, but that’s a post for another day. Today’s song in my heart states, “Every promise in the Book is mine.  Every chapter,  every verse, every line...”

And this is the First Amendment....!

Day of Summer!

Lots of activity

Day of summer! Today’s temperature felt practically summer-like! The high was about 81 degrees, and it was beautiful out! We spent most of the day outside, and it was lovely. We will have some school work to do tomorrow, but there was no way that I would want to miss out on the beautiful weather today. The temperature is supposed to drop back down tomorrow, so we will have time to do the school work that was missed.

I have been walking and praying this week. Since the weather has been so beautiful every morning, I’ve been using my headphones so that I can walk and pray. I’ve managed to sneak in almost three miles every morning during my walk/talk/prayer time. This morning it was so beautiful that after I finished walking and praying, I decided to take the kids on a walk down by the beach. The ocean is always a beautiful place to be, and our children really enjoy climbing on rocks, tromping through mud, and gathering up shells and sea glass. By the time it was 10:30am, we had walked on the beach, done a few errands, and were home again. Chandler’s skin continues to tan, and now I have trouble knowing if he’s dirty or just sun-kissed skin! Travis generally turns red first, so he’s easier to tell that it’s dirt! Of course, he’s also the child that does not like to take a bath or a shower, and he’s been known to run the shower water and just get his arms and hair wet- so gross! When your child returns from taking a “shower” and smells distinctly like a “wet dog” there is a problem.

Our governor released the guidelines for church services today, and while they offer some clarity, the guidelines are disheartening in my opinion. Of course, many of the guidelines are “recommendations” but  there should be a measure of concern in the heart of Americans if our governing leaders are allowed to issue “worship” guidelines. I’m not opposed to keeping things cleaner, being cautious, etc. All of those are good things, but I am concerned about the recommendations about wearing face coverings, no SINGING (but humming is aloud) and various other guidelines. Am I excited about going back to church? Yes! But there has been an abuse of power among many of our governors, and YOU and I should both be concerned about that! Am I fearful? No, because nothing happens without God’s permission. However, that does not mean that I will just do nothing. I will write letters to those in leadership. I will pray fervently. I will storm the gates of Heaven with my requests for revival among our land, and I will do my part to try to protect our children from growing up in an America that has been stripped of its freedoms. This is Memorial Day weekend...the weekend that we honor those who died for our freedoms! Wake up, Americans!

Well, if you followed me through that rabbit trail- congratulations! In other Maine news, the number of cases of Coronavirus continues to increase. President Trump Here issued a speech directing governors to allow churches to open for worship. People in Maine continue to recover from the Coronavirus, and we have had 73 deaths from Coronavirus in our state.
